Anne Frank House : We visited the Anne Frank House only once. I guess on our next visit to Amsterdam we will visit the Anne Frank House again. The visit there is important to me mainly because of its value, Jewish historical and personal significance and because of the illustration “with the eyes” of what is learned in schools as part of the studies of the Holocaust (Anne Frank’s diary) and Jewish history. Therefore, in hindsight, there is no point in coming to the place with children who are too young, in preschool age. There is of course also a touching personal story here, on a universal level, beyond the Jewish angle and therefore, it is visited by tourists from all over the world. I think that only children of school age and above will really experience the visit and even among them, not all of them will of course be able to contain the emotional and value experience of the visit to the Anne Frank House because there are many parameters that influence. In any case, on a personal level, in my opinion the home visit is more relevant from the ages of 6 or 7 or older and even only from the ages of 9-10 and certainly not at the ages of 4 or 5 for example, but it is individual and there are no “iron rules” in the matter, only parental feelings and instincts in the matter, will it interest and suit their child or not.

A note about the time of visit (this is not a recommendation but a note for thought): we were there in the morning and when we arrived, there was almost no line at the entrance. It is also possible to pre-order tickets for a specific time via the Internet and then the entry is a different special line for those who order from the Internet. I happened to come across a number of recommendations on various travel forums to arrive in the afternoon because that’s when it’s less crowded, and on the other hand, I happened to come across comments from travelers who visited in the afternoon and it was very busy and they recommended booking tickets in advance via the Internet. Perhaps due to the fact that everyone read the same recommendations to arrive in the afternoon, everyone arrives in the afternoon, and therefore, there is always a line there in the afternoon. We were there a long time ago, it should be noted, but when we were in the morning there was almost no line. This is like the reports in Gilgal : If there is a report of a traffic jam on a certain road and a recommendation to travel on alternative roads, it is clear to everyone that the report will continue to run in traffic flashes and then all the parallel roads become busy, while the road that was congested at the time is currently the freest and fastest J))…
