Early Monday morning we returned from four magical and wonderful nights and five days in beautiful Copenhagen.

It all actually started about two and a half weeks ago, when Ofri asked for a “trip with the brothers, like before the Corona” and Amri, Amit and Ido lifted the glove, checked, made an effort and gave me a narrow window of opportunity of 4 nights around one of the weekends before Rosh Hashanah. I played with the cards that were given Lee and the stars got along well on Copenhagen for four nights, on our 30th wedding anniversary, with the Poland lot and connections in Warsaw (yes, I managed to get rid of the 40 or so zlotys that Amri and Amit brought back from their tours of Poland when they were in high school 😊).
The truth is that at first I was looking for sun, heat and maybe remnants of beaches at the end of summer, after all, mid-September, but in the end we found the Little Mermaid, the Nordic sun and a pleasant Danish coolness… Copenhagen is charming, beautiful, pleasant, delicious, calm, interesting, Otherwise… she is cheerful, correct, doesn’t attack you, doesn’t stress you… We flew with 6 trolls and when we landed in Copenhagen we took a metro to the apartment… The most stormy episode was when we got out of the metro to the street. Already in the corridor that led from the metro towards the indoor food market of Copenhagen we felt a heavy drug that stuck to us, we felt like we were breaking lines, but there was no one to trust, because Sol was not in the area… unpleasant… we stood aside, maybe he will pass us because he He looks stoned from the ass and can’t see from the rain, but he stood with us and by our side. We continued walking, going up the stairs and he is behind us… we stop again and he also brakes, we continue on the sidewalk and Sehbak clings to Omari, pressing… as if his laser pointer was aimed at us… Did we enter a new season of “The Bridge” without our knowledge? In front of us are the two original buildings of the Torvehallerne covered food market and we see that the food market is before closing, chairs are raised on the tables at the various counters, cleaned and tidied up.. At the entrance we were told that they are really closing and maybe there will be something inside that has not yet closed, we went inside and turned left along the covered structure and just left the side His second and the market… the ploy was successful… that’s it, we managed to shake the follower off us, a sigh of relief from Copenhagen to Ness Ziona… he stopped at the entrance to the market and probably changed targets. A few minutes of walking in a pleasant breeze, the eyes enjoy the beautiful new view and we arrived at the charming apartment where we stayed during our 4 nights in Copenhagen.

First thing, the boys tune in to the TV to watch Maccabi Haifa against Paris Saint-Germain… we drink a good coffee and then Ido announces that he’s hungry and Bennon calmly orders a huge delivery of sushi trays to the apartment from a local restaurant via his cell phone… it’s eleven or so at night and we’re eating sushi, Watching Haifa surprise and then lose and feel completely at home, as if we hadn’t just landed about two and a half hours ago in Copenhagen… Ido, tell me, what did you write to the messenger? Did you write an apartment number? Name written on the intercom? something? And he, no.. just the number of the building.. well, the street is quiet, night, the apartment is located on the ground… we heard the motorcycle when he arrived and went to the kind courier to pick up the shipment….

In Copenhagen you don’t need cash at all. Only credit cards or mobile payment. Even the street musicians are transferred money by cell phone. Everything is organized and clear… Copenhagen is the most pleasant to get to know through the feet, most recommended. Just walking through the beautiful streets, you come across all kinds of parks and gardens, beautiful buildings, and I’m not talking about walking through the streets of the Stroget pedestrian mall there… there is a good, clean, tidy metro and buses, but we hardly used them, except for the trips to and from the airport and one more trip To the Christianhaven and Christiana area and back to “our” area… Copenhagen is small, flat and very pleasant on foot and pleasing to the eyes, moving more easily from place to place… across our block was a neighborhood supermarket, so in the mornings we bought groceries for breakfast.
During our stay in the city, we visited the beautiful Rosenborg Castle, including a visit to the royal treasury, where a collection of jewelry is displayed, the treasures of the royal house, including 2 spectacularly beautiful crowns, and we visited the beautiful Kongens Have gardens adjacent to the castle… The entrance to Rosenborg Castle is subject to a fee, but the visit In the beautiful gardens it is free and since it was literally on our way from the apartment to other areas in the city center, we passed them almost every day.. a green, large, well-kept, clean and beautiful park… we also visited the lovely botanical gardens (including the stunning butterfly pavilion), which were literally 2 -3 minutes walk from the apartment, the gardens and the castle. We visited and ate at Copenhagen’s indoor food market, the same one from the first evening…we tasted all kinds of food and drink stalls there. We also went up to the beautiful view of downtown Copenhagen from the Round Tower (Rundetaarn), we were enthused by the beauty of the pier and the colorful old houses along the Nyhavn canal and the small boats and yachts anchored on the sides of the canal, as well as the beautiful Kongens Nytorv square near Nyhavn. A picturesque photo site, both during the day and in the evening, when everything is lit up there and the lights are reflected in the water of the canal (we managed to skip all the tourist trap restaurants there, as in any self-respecting boardwalk or pier). From what I’ve read before, the “New Port, Nyhavn, New Pier” is actually a narrow water canal established by King Christian V and its purpose is to connect Kongens Niturb square to the sea.
We also visited the Frederick Church (Marmorkirken) which is impressive and beautiful inside and out, also known as the Marble Church or more correctly, by the locals Marmorkirken, since it is built of marble. Its dome resembles the dome of St. Peter’s Church. From there we crossed the road towards the complex of the Royal Palace, otherwise known as the Amalienborg Palace.. A complex with several buildings surrounding a circular courtyard, in the center of which is the statue of King Frederik IV on his horse. The cheeky Danes refused to take into account our late waking hours, so of course we didn’t get to see the changing of the guard ceremony there at 12:00 in the morning (when I told the children that there is a changing of the guard ceremony at the palace there at 12:00, they politely asked if they could ask to postpone and said that they had enough of the ceremony of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace which we watched before, nevertheless, Queen Elizabeth died and this was their humble way to honor her memory)…

Kikren and Amalienborg Palace We walked along the water between beautiful gardens until we reached the small and symbolic statue of the house of the Little Mermaid (Den lille havfrue).. To be in Copenhagen and not take a picture of the Little Mermaid?? Not far from the Little Mermaid statue is the Kastellet complex and there is a very beautiful fountain with statues and next to it a small monastery…

We got to see the Christhaven canals at sunset and the red color reflected off the water was a breathtaking sight. Dozens of photos at the same spot… The combination of beautiful canals with picturesque houses along the canals is very reminiscent of Amsterdam… While we were digging in our warm clothes, we saw local young guys, regardless of gender and race, jumping into the canal water in only their underwear…
We also visited the well-known autonomous neighborhood of Christiania, but we didn’t buy anything there for souvenirs.. hahaha… we settled for coffee, without the marijuana and hashish… Doggeri, despite all the noise around the compound and the neighborhood and the like, we were much more enthusiastic about the nearby canals…
It was the evening of our 30th wedding anniversary, a Friday and we decided to take a metro from the Christianshavn area towards Nørreport station which is “our” station.. From there we walked to a lovely place, a cocktail bar called The Living Room which we received recommendations and we knew had Happy Hour there. .. while walking, you see a lot of bars, pubs, restaurants, everything is crowded with people but not noisy, cheerful, happy, young, fun, not flashy and not shouting… In a framed article it is worth noting that there is an amazing food scene in Copenhagen, great food and a variety of restaurants cuisines and tastes and at different price levels (of course we didn’t really get to the expensive and/or luxury restaurants..lol..but we ate definitely good and tasty) and the night life there is amazing and lively…our big guys were stolen from it…full of bars, Pubs, restaurants, crowded until midnight, full of young men and women… a pleasure… but back to our business, we arrived at the bar during Happy Hour and since we are an alcohol-loving house and celebrated our wedding anniversary that evening, I won’t count how many cars we left there, but the cocktails And the sangria flowed like water… a lovely place.. The living room… All in all, 2 identical cocktails cost 120 kroner, which is 60 NIS for two cocktails and about 30 NIS per cocktail.. The price is absolutely reasonable and it was definitely more than likely that we would not settle for just one or two cocktails For Adam (Afri drank organic cocktails based on tropical fruits)… we returned home on foot of course, cheerful, tired and some of us were even happy and exhausted and not just cheerful and tired.. lol

One day we wanted to eat a real traditional Danish meal, at a local restaurant… The owner of the apartment recommended a restaurant that is just around the corner and there is delicious and good traditional Danish food… We ordered a place there and since the place is located exactly 3-4 minutes from the apartment, around the corner on the other side of the street, we left the apartment 5 minutes before the time… we were walking around and suddenly there was a terrible noise, we thought there was going to be a flood, so when we crossed the block and came to cross the street we discovered that the street is part of the Copenhagen half marathon and we are right at the peak… thousands of runners passed by and the sight is lovely, massive cheering on the sides of the street and runners running en masse… we see the restaurant right across the road, but it’s like crossing to the other bank when the river is stormy, foaming and gushing… waiting and waiting… really 20 minutes… nice to see all the runners… I called the restaurant , to say that we are late because we are on the other side of the road… After 20 minutes, when the stream of runners thinned out a bit and we noticed all kinds of messengers and locals passing between the runners, we found half a minute of a big gap and we also ran across the road… which means that in all, the family Marom participated with a full team in the Copenhagen Half Marathon for 2022..

And let’s get back to the food stuff, because between us, we are stronger at balling than at running… There is a Danish meal called Smørrebrød… basically, it’s an open dark rye bread sandwich, on which you spread butter, and on top of that you put all kinds of toppings like herring, roast beef, Slices of sausage, pieces of cold meat, pieces of fish, slices of cheese, salads, fried eggs, spreads and the like. Samarbro is considered the traditional national dish of Denmark. And they usually accompany this with a glass of beer and a glass of schnapps… we followed the rules of protocol… lol… it was great, delicious, satisfying and a feast for the eyes… and all this happened at 12:00 in the morning, as my children read for this hour

We knew that at quarter past midnight there is a closing show of fireworks, music and lights in the Tivoli Gardens… Therefore, we arrived in the evening hours of Saturday to the Tivoli Gardens… The entrance to the gardens is expensive and does not include the use of the facilities, but the place is charming, beautiful, well-lit, well-kept and the facilities Definitely worth it.. The suicides went on all kinds of roller coasters, upside-down installations and also all kinds of fair stands “like in the old days”… We loved and enjoyed every moment and the highlight, the grand finale, was the spectacular fireworks show.. Right, to eat and drink… Adjacent to the Tivoli Gardens was a McDonald’s that was open even after midnight and surprisingly it was really tasty… The truth is that we were all eager to return on foot, we went out into the street and within a minute We found a large taxi with 9 seats and within 5 minutes we were already at the apartment.. and the price? 160 kroner (about NIS 80) for six people, after outdoor, on a meter… there are honest people there…
