We really liked the Musée d’Orsay and the Orangery Museum near the Tuileries Gardens, we were there 3 times during the 4 or 5 times we visited Paris … I remember from the Orangery the interesting structure that gives a fascinating view and natural sunlight for paintings from the Water Lilies series Mona … D’Orsi is also lovely .. We were in the Louvre twice, admit I liked the first two more … we were at the lovable Roden Museum ..
But I have two other museums to offer you … Highly recommend an interesting visit with a Jewish angle at the Musée Nissim de Camondo, we combined it with a visit to the beautiful green Parc Monceau located opposite the Nissim Camondo Museum. It of course depends on the weather .. We bought baguettes and cheeses and wine and all sorts of things and had a little picnic there and it was very fun, Parisian spring …
Another lovely museum that Ella and I visited during the Silver Wedding celebrations in Paris in 2017 is the Marmottan Museum (http://www.marmottan.fr/uk/) .. when we were there was just an exhibition with works by Mona and his private collection …. it was a pleasure Great .. need to check out what exactly is on display now .. in the 16th arrondissement .. 15 minutes walk from the Trocadero Gardens .. These two museums (Musee Marmottan and also Musée Nissim de Camondo) are something different, smaller, more fun, more intimate. We are not in the heart of the tourist area and the museums, we loved it very much .. We were in Paris several times, the first two times which is a week each time and then a few days on each additional visit, so of course after marking the “duty” there is time and space for more things .. Orsay for example … Speaking of Mona, on one of the trips we took the kids and took the bus to Mona’s Spark in Gibrani .. WOW, the water pools with the vegetation, the lilies .. amazing .. the house is normal, but the garden was amazing ..
By the way, d’Orsay, a recommendation for the restaurant Les Antiquaires near D’Orsay .. We had a fun and delicious evening there after visiting the museum .. If you are in the area, definitely worth it .. 13 Rue de Bac … Good food, very pleasant atmosphere, Not expensive, it was really 5 minutes from the museum .. we were the 2017 .. need to check how the corona survived ..
