The Fanal Forest is located high above sea level and is mostly covered in fog. As a result of the combination of altitude, wind regime and fog, the trees in the forest have different and strange shapes and the forest provides travelers with unique and mysterious sights. The drive there is long and in certain sections, especially in the area closest to the forest, there is heavy fog and only partial visibility and the drive is very slow, but the experience is definitely worth it and the views are amazing. We stopped at the well-maintained parking lot and went for a half-hour ride among the forest trees. By the way, the route may be muddy and wet and this should be taken in account.
