Pico do Ariero is located south of Pico Ruivo and is considered the third highest peak on the island, at almost 1,820 meters. You can get there by car, and there is an observation deck at the top (Miradouro do pico do Arieiro), and on a day with good visibility, you can enjoy the views and beaches of the island and even see the nearby island of Porto Santo, which is the second inhabited island in the Madeira archipelago. By the way, several hiking trails depart from Pico do Ariero towards the higher Ruivo mountain peak, some of which are of very good quality, but these are trails that range in length from 6 to 7 km and take  about three hours to walk.
