Tour of the city center: We started the tour from the main square Piazza Bra and the Arena. The truth is that we planned to visit inside the arena, but just when we arrived, it was closed for two hours due to a workers’ meeting, this also happens on tours (the entrance fee is 4 euros)… Therefore, we walked along the beautiful Mazzini pedestrian street, from Piazza Bra towards Capello Street and Julia’s Terrace. The pedestrian street is very beautiful and conveys a high standard of living, in the design of the elegant and prestigious boutiques and clothing and footwear stores. In this pedestrian street, we ate the tastiest ice creams in Italy in our opinion, in two different ice cream parlors, which are more or less opposite each other and located in a part closer to Piazza Berra than to Campello Street. Juliet’s balcony is very touristy and crowded and beyond the gimmick of caressing the right breast (yes, we all want success in our love life, so we all caressed…) and the children’s story about Romeo and Juliet, the place is quite casual. A visit of five minutes and no more. From there, we returned along Via Campello in the direction of the beautiful Piazza dell Erbe, full of stalls, statues and fountains, and Signori Square, in the center of which is a statue of Dante and is surrounded by beautiful ancient buildings and palaces from the Middle Ages. From there, we just strolled for our pleasure in the beautiful Verona alleys and admired its beauty. We walked a little along the river and watched the beautiful Ponte Scaligero bridge from afar. Unfortunately, due to the rain that fell most of the time, we gave up on the foot trips we planned towards the forts and bridges across the river. When we returned to BRA square, the arena had already opened but the rain and hunger tipped the scales and we gave up a tour inside the amphitheater in favor of a food tour.
