: In the town of Bagno Vignoni, the main square is a pool. A very short tour – maybe half an hour. In the center of the village is a square thermal pool Piazza delle Sorgenti (Square of the Springs). An ancient rectangular thermal pool from the Roman period. You can take a picture of it from the gallery opposite, there are also small hot springs just below the town. Bagno Vignoni is a famous spa town built right on the hot springs of the valley. The town’s main piazza, PIAZZA DELLE SORGENTI, is a pool, 49 meters long and 29 meters wide, which is regularly filled with hot spring water from a volcanic source. From the town itself, you can walk to the tiny nearby spring park called PARCO DEI MULLINI. The park is actually a short path consisting of a series of pools carved into the rock, where the thermal water is collected. The residents of the area were able to take full advantage of the springs, and for many years the water was also used to operate the ancient flour mills that were built on the site (in fact, the ponds were designed to allow the mills to operate even during the dry summer months). The atmosphere in the magical town, the rustic stone houses, the tranquility and the convenient location, make it a highly recommended stopover if you are touring the Orce Valley.
