Villa Borghese is a large park in the heart of Rome. A well-maintained and charming English-style garden, with a lake, fountains, statues and several buildings, some of which are used as museums (admission fee). There is also a zoo.

You can and should be able to rent bicycles, rollerblades or segways on the spot, or simply take a walk in the garden which is 6 km in circumference. It’s a good idea to stock up in advance for a picnic in one of the corners of the well-kept garden. There is a small electric bus, line 116, that goes through the garden. From the top of the park – above the Piazza del Popolo – there is a well-known balcony, which is an observation point on the Basilica of San Pietro and the Castel Sant’Angelo. It’s beautiful to look at the sunset from Pincho Garden.
